Artwork Creation Story”
The original artwork was created back in 2016.
First a large print of a £10 banknote was created then the part of it where a (in my opinion) the poor representation of The Queen is portrayed was torn out. Then I created a pen drawing of the Queen at a younger age on paper that would fit in the torn part. The two were then combined.
3 stages, work in progress photos of the drawing being done in ballpoint pen.
After that original sold a limited edition of 75 was released which then sold out.
Then in 2022 for the Queens Platinum Jubilee a special group exhibition was organized by AdLib Gallery at the OXO Tower Gallery on Southbank, Central London. I was asked to create a new version of the artwork for the exhibition. Digitally I added the sunglasses (which I originally painted for my “The Girl With The Prada Sunglasses” artwork) and the faded Union Jack in The background. This was printed onto pair of Metallic prints which were hand finished and both then sold at the show. By popular demand we then created this special edition on paper to commemorate the Jubilee.
